Emma

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) and Chris Watson (born in Paris). After moving to Oxfordshire when she was five, Emma enrolled at The Dragon School. From the age of six Emma was aware that she wanted to be an actress and for some time she trained at the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theater school, where she learned singing dancing and acting. When she was 10 Emma was already taking part in several Stagecoach Productions as well as school productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) was the movie adaption from J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel premiered for the first occasion in the year 1999. Emma was identified by casting agents thanks to Emma's Oxford theater teacher. After a string of auditions for eight consecutive times, the producer David Heyman told Emma and fellow applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been selected as the three lead characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. The release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's film debut. It was also the biggest and most well-received film of the year. The first Saturday and Sunday sales were record-breaking. The film received praise from people who have read it, along with the performance of three young actors. The well-known British daily The Daily Telegraph called her performance admirable. Emma's performance was nominated and was awarded five more times in the film.
